East Bengal and Shree Cement Deadlock Resolved Temporarily
East Bengal’s deadlock with their owners Shree Cement was resolved on a temporary basis after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee intervened. She held negotiable discussions between both parties to carve out a solution that would see the Kolkata Giants participate in the upcoming eight season of Indian Super League (ISL).
At the meeting held on 26th August, officials from both East Bengal and Shree Cement confirmed that the differences relating to the final agreement of their joint venture has been put aside and the focus has shifted towards building a competitive team. The Red and Gold brigade has already confirmed about retaining their coaching staff headed by Robbie Fowler along with the assistance of Indian legend Renedy Singh. With the transfer window closing on 31st August, SC East Bengal would have to look forward to unregistered players in domestic and international circuit.
