FC Goa overcame Chennaiyin FC to be crowned the champions with a scoreline of 2-1 in a thrilling final encounter that took place at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. After a goalless first-half, Ferran Corominas (51′) opened the scoring for Goa. Within minutes, Raphael Augusto (54′) equalized for Chennaiyin. Brandon Fernandes (64′) got the lead back for Goa with a spectacular goal, which proved to be the title winner. Mohammad Nawaz, the young goalkeeper of Goa was adjudged the Hero of the Match for a couple of brilliant saves in the first half.
