Young Prodigy Kiyan Nassiri Scores a hat-trick to give Mohun Bagan a 3-1 Win Over Arch Rivals East Bengal
Kiyan Nassiri, son of football legend Jamshed Nassiri, announced his name in Indian football and the famous Kolkata derby, by scoring a hat-trick in 30 mins for Mohun Bagan. The Mariners were victorious over East Bengal with a final scoreline of 3-1, in a match that was held in the Nehru Stadium at Fatorda, on Saturday.
The Kolkata Derby, that recently made its way in the LIMCA Book of records, started off in a scrappy way and East Bengal ruined a few pure goal scoring chances in the first half, thanks to numerous defensive errors that were committed by the Bagan defense. David Williams and Hugo Boumous, the two forwards, were equally dysfunctional.
Mohun Bagan started off the second half on a positive note with Liston Colaco hitting the post. However their rivals snatched the lead and went ahead from a corner, with a goal from Darren Sidoel.
21-year old Kiyan arrived at the scene just at the hour mark for Bagan and turned the game around its neck. He scored an equalizer within four minutes of arrival (64’) and scored two more right at the end (90 + 2, 90 + 4). With this, the Iranian left an indelible mark on the Kolkata Derby, leading his team to a 3-1 victory and gifted eternal glory for Bagan fans, as the supporters of both Kolkata Derby giant clubs seek, from this epic battle.
